Harem pants.. I’m still not convinced. They say it’s another major trend this spring, but honestly hammer pants harem pants scare me. Talk about being  a fashion victim if I even think about trying this trend.

You’d have to be careful with this look, the pants tend to make you look shorter and wider. So I’m going to state something that other people have failed to acknowledged, harem pants for plus sized women aren’t recommended. I’ve been doing a bit of research and it looks like thinis a requirement to pull off this look . But I can imagine it working for a plus sized gal if the proper material were used. Minimal sagging at the crotch is preferred, something similar to the ones shown above.

When sporting harem pants make sure to wear cropped tops and jackets so that it becomes obvious that you’re wearing harems and that your pants are purposely sagging at the crotch. The sagging and tapered design will definitely take off several inches from your height so do wear heels. If you’re below the average height make sure your heels are extra high.

As for accessorizing, keep it to a minimum. One chunky piece of jewelry is enough. There’s not much left here, I just want to say that I wouldn’t like the look even if it suited me. But for the adventurous few.. good luck!

Fringed Sandals

I went to the mall the other day and noticed a similarity among the shoes and accessories on display at the stores… You wanna take a guess? I swear it’ll be really easy… I’ll give you a lollipop if you guess right… (LOL)

It’s pretty obvious, fringe is the common factor amongst the vibrant colors of leather, patent, suede, and cloth purses, shoes, and sandals, not so much on clothing though; Hmnnnnnnn, I wonder why (shrug)?

You may have read about my earlier post about 2009’s fashion trend. Fringe is hot this season and since no one wants to be a fashion victim (knowing what suits your body type really helps out with that) I decided to try the trend on something lighter, yes fringed skirts and dresses are too bold for me so I bought these sandals.

I wore the shoes before I snapped the pixies so ignore the scuff marks if you see ‘em. It’s Obviously I’m no photographer so pardon the bad lighting and background (carpet incase your wondrin’) I did these after work so my heart wasn’t in it.

Anyway they’re like a cross between the fringed trend and gladiator sandals. I’m still trying to decide if I like them.. What say you?

Summer is a commin’ and everyone will be a clubbin’! When clubbing, the first thing that comes to a girls mind is “What do I wear?!” *gasps*

This is a  somewhat understandable reaction cuz no one wants to be the frumpy girl of the night, so while browsing through the world wide web in search of my next favorite ensemble, I stumbled upon a website that specializes in sexy clubwear . They have mini skirts, micro mini skirts, sexy fitting tops, skimpy outfits, mini and cut out dresses which by the way is on the hot list for spring and summer fashion trends. 

Some would say that a woman must be conservative in her choice of clothing,  be well mannered, and proper to be considered a lady but we all need a day off to let loose and have fun. So add steam to the scene and be the hot little thing all the guys are want to meet. You’ll find all your skimpy clubbing wear here, after all what are sexy timeswith out flirty hither come outfits to set the guys into a testosterone fueled frenzy. *chuckles*

So if you’ve got the god given gift of a firm bod and a sexy silhouette.. all I can say is FLAUNT it!

First up we have the Long and Flowing hair that have been spotted on runway models fashioning 2009’s spring and summer trends.

If you have hair that go past your shoulders then you’ve already taken care of the LONG part. Now as for FLOWING, well that’s another easy detail that takes care of itself. The only key component to this look is VOLUME.

Make sure to wash your hair to get rid of the natural oil that can make it look weighed down and shiny, this won’t help you achieve the look. Blow dry hair with a standard brush and after drying apply volumizing mousse like the one shown below.

The Bob

We saw women’s hair get shorter and shorter in 2008 with hair cut trends for women leaning towards short. We have the standard bob, pixie crops, and cropped bobs. People who cut their hair short and wanted a change only had two obvious choices; cut it shorter or grow it out.

Though bobs and all variations in between are still a trend, this style is slowly but surely transitioning into “so last year” category. Mainly because shorter variations of the bob won’t look good on everyone. So if you went the other way and allowed your hair to grow out, I have good news for you! Boyfriend Jeans are just a new name for girl’s baggy jeans. So how do you wear ‘em? Not like this according to fashion gurus:

It’s wierd that Katie Holmes is recognized as the actress who popularized the boyfriend jeans when every one has got her pegged as the one who wears them so distastefully. I think she wore them right a couple of times though, like the one in the middle :

First off, lets cover the obvious; do not wear jeans owned by your boyfriend. Buy actual boyfriend jeans that have straight legs and are a bit long for you, cuffed ends are part of the look after all. You can roll ‘em up as is or tapared. Or you can forget cuffing and leave ‘em as is

Boyfriend jeans are best with basic fitting tees and tops. You don’t want anything overly embelished going on up there, it would take away from the relaxed feel of this look. Go with graphic and vintage tees or tank tops that can be tucked in or are short enought to keep the waist band in plain sight. This is again an essential part of the look. Make sure they’re fitted to avoid looking frumpy.

Top off the look with a chunky belt, brown or black should do. Then for your feet go with platforms, ballet shoes, flat slip ons, nice cut out booties, and gladiators if your leaning towards cuffed jeans. Of your gonna be wearing heeled boots cuff them higher up than usual. If your for no cuffs still go with flats slip ons and your basic sneakers.

It looks like 2009’s spring and summer’s fashion will be all sheer with cut outs and see through fabrics! Not to worry though, we’re not talking about trashy unappealing ensembles, the key to wearing this season’s trend is ELEGANCE. Sheer fabric can be use in clothing in several ways like tight sheer blouses, layered look, and chick femme draping.

Fringe is another one on the IT list of spring and summer 09’s fashion trend, it’s the flapper dress re-invented. This is a relatively harder piece to pull off but certainly is one of the hottest this season

The secret to the perfect fringe piece is the material use on the clothing. Be aware of the quality of fabric and make sure that the fringe shimmy and sway with your moves since this is what makes the whole look attractive.
